Stay in Elena's home -- get to know her and Puerto Rico while having your own bedroom, bath, sitting room and porch. If that's too chummy for you, stay in the completely private downstairs apartment and still get all of her insider's advice on what to do and how to do it. She will hook you up with the best places and people on the island for hiking, snorkeling, kayaking and other activities. You can also just relax in the peaceful surroundings of the Puerto Rican countryside and do as little as you like.

"In Elena's home" There are two rooms with one bath in between the two rooms. One room has a queen size bed and the other room two twin beds. 3 nights for two people $255 - does not matter if you use one room or two ( that works out to $85 per night including breakfast) Children welcome. . Children 3 - 10 pay $10 per night each. Children 11 - 13 pay $15 per night each. $30 per extra person over 14. More than 5 nights @ $ 65. per night for 2 persons. The small fridge and microwave in the breakfast room may be used by guests should they wish to make light meals.

*Bed & Breakfast Suite: Elena will serve you a nice breakfast ( yogurt, cereal, eggs, pancakes, french toast, toast, milk, juice and coffee) and chat about Puerto Rico and your day's exploring possibilities.. A simple dinner ( lasagna or vegetarian or even vegan) can be served as well, if arranged in the morning. Breakfast is served between 8 and 9 AM.

SPECIAL OFFER for ADVENTURERS : Pay for 5 nights and get two nights 'off'! What does this mean? It means that two times (during a seven night stay) you can stay somewhere else out on the island and leave all your things in your room. You won't have to pay for those 2 nights*. So you can explore, end up on the other side of Puerto Rico for the night and you won't have to pay for the night at Casa Pico Este but you still have the rooms, with all your things in them. *Any of the seven nights. So the total price ( 2 pers) for one weeks rental would be $425.

Suggestions for where you may wish to overnight away from Pico Este: Ponce, Cabo Rojo, Rincon, Isabela or San Juan. This could save you the hassle of packing, moving your things or needless driving.

Downstairs: Separate apartment! One bedroom apt. /with kitchen: Porch area. Queen size bed. 3 nights for two people $255 - More than 5 nights @ $ 65. per night for 2 persons. This apartment is for the traveler who wants to get to know eastern Puerto Rico and have a relaxing, inexpensive vacation in Puerto Ricos' scenic countryside and do a little cooking, restaurants in Puerto Rico are excellent but perhaps more expensive than you are used to, save your money for explorations.

You do need a car to stay in this area.

Our minimum stay is 3 nights. WHY? There are many places to stay for the tourist who is just cruising through, hitting all the spots they read about on the internet or some guide book. Casa Pico Este is for the traveler who wants to experience the 'real Puerto Rico' and that can not be done in a hurry! Stay with us and learn about Puerto Rico in the countryside. We are close enough to a variety of attractions so that you will not run out of fascinating sites and sounds! . . Elena will guide your travels and share her experiences of what it is really like living here, in the fresh mountain breezes of the eastern slope of El Yunque.

Amenities:

High speed internet access in the office, if you bring your laptop. No TV here. The "office area" is open until 10 AM each morning and again in the early evening.

Please note: There are some goofy, very friendly dogs on the premises. They do not enter the 'suite' area, nor the downstairs apartment area. They are outside and in the office area. There are no dogs next door in the Private 2 bedroom apartment area.

Elena has over 30 years experience in tourism around Puerto Rico. She has managed two hotels and three different luxury villas. She and her ex-partner operated a charter sailboat many years ago cruising throughout the Caribbean islands. . . Now, back on mainland Puerto Rico, this is her "semi-retirement", staying in the business - at a low stress level. Elena offers lots and lots of knowledge and personal attention.
