This
trip offers the opportunity to see Puerto Ricos' incredible diversity
in the greatest of ease. Have lots of Adventures, or spend the days
relaxing.
First Day. Pick up your rental car at the airport and drive
EAST along the scenic road #187 to the town of Luquillo and stop
in the Balneario Luquillo. Afternoon swim in this fabulous crescent
beach. Drink your first cold coconut!

Accommodations above the beach at the William or Sues places near
and above Luquillo. Or drive up the south side of the El Yunque
Rainforest. Jump into the crystal clear pools and waterfalls below
your guest house. The cool lovely rainforest with the sound of the
waterfalls and the coquis singing their lullaby. Rain forest lodging.
At least 2, better three, nights should be spent here in or at the
edge of the lush, cool mountainous El Yunque tropical rainforest.
Second Day. Go out to Icacos Key
. The fishermen will take you there by motorboat from Las Croabas.
Excellent Snorkeling and fabulous swimming on this sandy key, surrounded
by white sand and clear turquoise blue waters! then Kayak from Las
Croabas with Mark in the afternoon. Mark
will be your guide into the mangrove canals and lagoon. Sunset and
Evening boat trip into the magical bioluminescent lagoon. ( If there
is not much moon - no moon is best).
This
is your dose of sun and the next day would be well spent in the
cool rainforest.
Third Day. Hike to a Lush rain forest Waterfall on the Rio Prieto
with a knowledgeable guide, get Robin
to show you the way, early start. Drive up to the south side of
the El Yunque Rainforest. Jump into the crystal clear pools. Magnificent
views.. Rainforest lodging. At least
three nights should be spent in one place. Choose one place from
the rainforest lodging page.

Fourth Day. Scenic morning drive down the picturesque east coast
and around the tip of the island on the very panoramic route #901
. Eat lunch at the side of the road restaurant called Bella
Vista. After lunch drive west along the south coast to the Coamo
Hot Springs. An afternoon or early soak in the hot springs is soooo
relaxing. spend the night in the heart of Ponce, right on or off
the plaza at Hotel Belgica or Hotel Melia.
Fifth Day. up the mountains above Ponce into the Cordillera
Central. Take scenic road # 10 up to Adjuntas. Visit Lago
Garzas one the the two highest lakes in Puerto Rico and hike
up the trail in Carite Forest and back to Adjuntas for the night.
Monte Guilarte is 1,204.0 Metres High.
Seventh Day Visit the Camuy Caves on the north coast
of Puerto Rico and drive back to San Juan.
The caves are open Tuesday to Sunday and holidays from 8:00 am to
3:45 pm. Entrance fee $10, parking is $2 and the number of visitors

Seventh Day Alternatives: Drive to the Cabo Rojo lighthouse
or to Guanica and visit Gilligans Island.

divers. Explore a submarine cave with inside and outside reefs.
